We are looking forward to celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Annual Osun River Ritual on Sunday 9th August. We want you to get the best out of this experience so bear with us over the coming days as we share important information with you, to help you get ready.
Just as you would with any Festival – being prepared is key to how well you enjoy the experience.
The Celebratory Shrine Exhibition
The exhibition opens on Saturday afternoon – at 1.00pm – when we launch and introduce the Celebratory Shrine. You’re all welcome to drop in and enjoy a slice of cake with some delish Dalgety tea – and wonder through the exhibition, featuring images, art, artefacts, an altar for your interaction/mediation with Yeye Osun, Mami Wata and water deities.

What to wear
Respectfully and joyfully we invite you to wear white in unity with all the participants. Along with yellow, this is the colour most linked to Yeye Osun. White with a touch of yellow is suggested but don’t feel pressured if you don’t have either – be in bright, festival shades to make the most out of this community centering experience.

Our Merchandise table & Catering
For the first time, attendees will have the opportunity to support the Annual Osun River Ritual by purchasing relevant items from our Merchandise table. These include Ifa items, fans, books, mirrors, art, greeting cards and so on…
You’ll also have the chance to get some light refreshments from the African Caribbean catering stalls.

We remain committed to our independence and the community first incentive of the Ritual Festival. This year, after 10 years of organising this special celebration without any support/resources, we’re grateful for our ongoing collaboration with the National Trust at Morden Hall Park, whose ground staff have been supportive of widening access to the event in a way that reflects our commitment. We are also delighted to be able to offer a goody bag to at least the first 100 attendees thanks to the generous donation of Dalgety Teas (founded by Mark Dalgety). Also the Wimbledon Beekeepers Association, which offers courses in beekeeping from Morden Hall Park have provided some local honey to assist our fundraising efforts. The South East Rivers Trust under which the Wandle resides through its Heritage Fund project was able to provides some assistance too. We feel blessed and look forward to the increased abundance, collaborations, and blessed opportunities that Yeye Osun continues to inspire.
